The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum has been officially recognized as a Certified Autism Center, an honor granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

“Our goal is to educate everyone about the significance of the Trolley Era and its influence on modern transportation innovations,” said DeBor. “Maintaining our IBCCES certification is a key part of our commitment to inclusivity and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.”

The museum first received its IBCCES certification in 2024. The recent recertification reflects the museum’s ongoing dedication to staff training, helping employees better understand and support autistic or sensory-sensitive guests and their families during visits.

To enhance accessibility, the museum offers a dedicated classroom, a cool-down area, and an adult changing table. Visitors can also request sensory bags equipped with noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, and fidget items.

The museum welcomes guests during winter seasonal hours, from Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., continuing through Memorial Day.
